HOW TO PAINT PLEXIGLASS

First way: Prepare a varnish for superficial coloring of plexiglass. For this purpose with a sharp knife or a file plane scobs from a plexiglass scrap. Dissolve them in a strong acetum. On 6 parts of acetum 1 part of scobs. When scobs will completely be dissolved, add in a solution paste from ball-point pens. Colour of paste and its quantity defines colour of a varnish.

The prepared varnish is put on a plexiglass surface. A varnish, dissolving plexiglass and mixing up with it paints it. Use a varnish carefully as the acetum entering into its composition can cause burns of a skin and damage clothes.

Second way: As dye it is used zapon. Zapons are manufactured: red, green, dark blue, violet, black and other colors. In the enameled or glass tray pour a zapon of the necessary colour and immerse in it plexiglass. Duration from several seconds till 15 minutes - all depends on a desirable shade of coloring. To receive rather dark colour, plexiglass can be immersed in a tray some times, each time allowing zapon to drying up.

For get of any colour shade it is necessary to mix in certain proportions zapons corresponding colors. As zapon dissolves the plexiglass, the painted surface is very stable, is well polished and does not fade.

Third way: Dissolve dye (0.5g) of a set for coloring of photos in methyl spirit. Pour a solution in the flat enameled tray and place a tray in boiling water. As the temperature of boiling of spirit nearby 70°C, dye will soon begin to boil. Stainable plexiglass preliminary warm up in boiling water, and then immerse in a tray with dye. Owing to diffusion dye gets into a surface layer of plexiglass and further is not washed off.
