How to save fuel by automatic control of section of an air jet

The automatic regulator of section of the main air jet, established on the carburetor and connected with its primary chamber allows depending on air temperature under a cowl smoothly to increase section of an air jet and to impoverish a gas mixture. It gives economy of fuel which is estimated by run increase in completely filled car approximately on 50km.

Regulator is collected in a plastic box from plexiglass which fix in the case of the air filter. The device basis is made by a bimetallic plate from an electric heating pad, fixed in a wall of box. On the free end of a plate is fixed "needle" which the cone enters into an aperture of an air jet. Instead of the regular the jet which in the bottom part has aperture ø1.8 mm is inserted and connected by a plastic tube with emulsion a well of the primary chamber of the carburetor. At a cold condition the plate occupies rectilinear position, and the needle leaves opened the section corresponding to the regular size of a jet and equal 1.5mm. The bimetallic plate has the adjusting screw which serves for exact preparation of the section blocked by a needle in a cold condition.

        In process of the warming up arriving in the carburetor of air, the plate starts to be curved, the needle moves, releases blocked section of a jet, increasing it till the size corresponding to diameter of 1.8mm. Thus, in heated condition the main portioning device of the carburetor prepares more impoverished mix and that reaches economy of fuel. Pauperization degree can be regulated easily, selecting the form of a needle and changing its initial position by the adjusting screw.
