HOW TO FLATTEN (TO UNDERCOAT) WALLS BEFORE THE WHITEWASH (OR WHAT IT IS NECESSARY TO MAKE THAT THE FRESH WHITEWASH HAS NOT COME UNSTUCK) - RECIPES OF UNDERCOATS

Before a wall whitewash should flatten with one of following undercoats:

  • vitriol undercoat (is recommended);
  • the soap undercoat;
  • undercoat on the basis of dextrin.

 Structure vitriol undercoats (on 10 l):

Copper vitriol - 200 … 500g

Laundry soap (“40 %”) – 250g

Dry animal glue – 200g

Paint oil – 30g

Water up to 10 l

 

Preparation: Presoak the glue in water of 10-12 hours. On the bulked up glue add the copped soap. Heat up. Dissolve the copper vitriol in hot water in separate ware. When glue and soap were dissolved in water, constantly mixing, add paint oil and further the solution copper vitriol. Add water up to total quantity is 10 l.

Using: At a first of a new plastered surface add to undercoat 2-3kg of a chalk. At the second ground add to undercoat 6-7kg of a chalk.

The vitriol undercoats well protects from a mould and other illnesses of walls.

 

Structure of a soap-glue undercoats (on 10 l):

Laundry soap (“40 %”) – 400g

Dry animal glue – 400g

Water up to 10l

 

Preparation: Dry glue and the chopped soap dissolve in 4-5ะป hot water. Add water up to total quantity is 10 l.

 

For preparation of undercoat on the basis of dextrin a dry dextrin slowly pour in water. Constantly mix the solution, not to admit occurrence of lumps.   

 

Surfaces before painting with an oil paint (enamel) are grounded by paint oil.
