Soil mulching - the agro technical method promoting yield increase of vegetable cultures. According to this method after sowing, spaces between rows are covered with straw, dung or a special paper.

Because of Mulching:

- Moisture in soil is kept,

- Soil temperature is raised on 2-2.5°C,

- Soil structure is protected from weathering,

- Soil crust is not formed,

- Weeds are not occurred.

In the dense soil covered with a crust, roots suffer from a lack of oxygen of air and perish. If the crust was formed before soil mulching, it is necessary carefully break avoid damage of shoots.

It is necessary to mulch only enough damp soil.
